Modded Peavey 6505 (5105)

The Peavey 6505 is a guitar amplifier head that has become an iconic choice for heavy metal and hard rock guitar players. Originally introduced in the 1990s as the Peavey 5150, the amp was designed in collaboration with guitar virtuoso Eddie Van Halen, and has since become one of the most popular amps in its class.

The Peavey 6505 is an all-tube amplifier, featuring five 12AX7 preamp tubes and four 6L6 power tubes. It has two channels, a clean channel and a lead channel, each with its own set of controls. The lead channel is where the amp really shines, offering high-gain distortion with excellent clarity and definition, perfect for heavy metal and hard rock genres.

The amp features a range of tone-shaping controls, including a three-band EQ, pre-gain and post-gain controls, and a resonance and presence control. It also has a built-in effects loop, allowing players to add additional effects pedals and processors to their setup.

One of the key features of the Peavey 6505 is its rugged construction and durability. The amp head is built like a tank, with a solid metal chassis and heavy-duty components designed to withstand the rigors of touring and live performance. This, combined with its excellent sound quality, has made it a favorite among professional guitarists for decades.

In recent years, Peavey has released several variations on the 6505, including the 6505 Plus and the 6505 MH, which offer additional features and more compact designs. However, the original Peavey 6505 remains a classic and highly sought-after amplifier for heavy metal and hard rock guitarists.
